Indian automaker Mahindra is getting ready to make a significant impact in the electric SUV market with its upcoming model, the Mahindra XEV 9S. According to official updates, the company will reveal the SUV on November 27, 2025, during a special event in Bengaluru called “Scream Electric.”

While under development, the model was billed as XEV 7e. However, having progressed to the production stage, Mahindra decided to go with the new name, XEV 9S, to better fit its innovative and new character. As highlighted, the Mahindra XEV 9S will be a 7-seater, 100 % electric all-SUV designed with all features an Indian family would expect: luxury, technology.
Furthermore, the rebranding has led to the improvement of Mahindra’s new electric SUV uniqueness: it boasts four individual motors, a three-section dividing gearbox, and a self-governing axel combining flawless 4-Wheel Drive features and provides exceptional eco-friendly performance. Power, Range, and Performance: What to Expect from the XEV 9S
Since official specifications are not available, most industry insiders believe the Mahindra XEV 9S will offer two battery pack models: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The top version of this car may provide a mileage of more than 500 km on one charge, which is good for both inner cities and long trips.

Provided the top variant is powered by a dual-motor layout and has AWD capabilities, the Automobile will likely provide a total of 370 kW, guaranteeing smooth riding and a solid grip. Moreover, the fast-charging method may fully charge the SUV to 80% in approximately 40 minutes.
A Futuristic Interior with Premium Features and Smart Technology
XEV 9S cabin is expected to fill with high tech once someone steps in. As per available reports, a triple-screen dashboard will make the center dash space occupy a driver display, central infotainment touch screen, and a passenger-side screen.
