In my reporting for The Ayodhya Times, I’ve learned that the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition gains major mechanical changes aimed at enhancing its off-road abilities to a great extent. For 2012, the bike boasts a full 280mm of adjustment on each end, which translates into tremendous comfort and stability on rough trails. Ground clearance has also been raised to 270mm, so the bike will tread over rocks, potholes and steep gradients without bottoming out.

Hero’s Proven 210cc Engine Returns Stronger and Smoother in the Dakar Edition

Even the Hero Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition remains propelled by the very same tried-and-tested 210cc liquid-cooled DOHC motor which delivers 24.2 bhp and 20.7 Nm of twist. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the engine exhibits consistent pulling power from all gears – be it while powering your way through inclines or maintaining highway speeds.

Power figures are the same, but Hero has concentrated on updating the suspension and frame geometry to make for a more balanced and controlled fun-to-ride experience.
