The Mahindra XEV 9S has been one of the most awaited electric SUVs in India and now, the countdown begins for its launch. Homegrown automaker will be unleashing its first fully electric seven-seater SUV — Mahindra XEV 9S on November 27th, 2025 at their grand “Scream Electric” event which is being held in Bengaluru. This new SUV claims to offer not just aggressive styling with advanced technology, but also a good enough range that could redefine Mahindra’s position in the Indian electric mobility domain.
Design and Premium Interior
Initial Teasers suggest that the Mahindra XEV 9S will have a future-forward design with those imposing SUV proportions. Up front is a closed grille, slim Yshaped LED DRLs and flush door handles for an aerodynamic finish. The rear comes with lined LED tail lights providing wider and more elegant presence.
Looking at its tall roofline and long wheelbase, the SUV ensures there would be plenty of space in all three rows which makes it one of few full-sized electric SUVs that Indian families can opt for.
Engine, Power & Performance
The Mahindra XEV 9S will be offered with two battery pack choices including 59 kWh and 79 kWh. It could also have a respectable range, ranging from about 540 to 650 km per charge, depending on the version.
Upper models are anticipated to receive dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) for better performance, with more modest trims coming in rear-drive (RWD). I should add that due to DC fast charging support it should be able to charge from 10% to 80 percent in about 35 minutes.
