India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is all prepared to launch its first-ever electric SUV. The Maruti e-Vitara. Scheduled to be launched on December 10,2025, and it would definitely infuse a new excitement in India’s EV scene.
Priced between ₹17 lakh and ₹22.5 lakh (estimate), the e-Vitara will compete with the likes of Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in Indian market.
Engine, Power & Performance
The Maruti e-Vitara is said to be offered with two battery options, allowing buyers the flexibility of choosing that suits their driving requirements better. The first is a 49 kWh battery, front-wheel-drive model with about 142 to 144 bhp. This version should be good for an estimated 344km (213 miles) of driving on a single charge, which means it’s perfect for daily drives and city commutes overall.
Maruti will also provide a bigger 61 kWh battery pack for those who need more power and range. This version is a bit more potent, 172 174 bhp and drives an impressive 428km before requiring a plug-in top up.
Apart from these two, Maruti may even bring in an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version with dual-motor technology for global markets later this year which could produce almost 184 bhp of combined power, thus providing more powerful performance and traction capability.
Safety and Smart Features
The Maruti e-Vitara will come in loaded with safety and smart features. It has seven airbags, so you are protected all around, and a 360-degree camera that makes parking as easy as it can get. Safety Functions such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) can stabilise the vehicle during unexpected manoeuvres to help prevent loss of control.
It will also feature ADAS functions like the lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, providing drivers more peace of mind each trip. And with these systems all working together.
