Volkswagen is ready to introduce its premium offering, the 7-seater SUV Tayron in India. The vehicle has already been spied testing in India sans camouflage and the launch seems to be around the corner. Onlookers say the SUV test car sported a temporary license plate, indicating that VW was about to start production or near final pre-launch testing. Insiders are expected in the industry to be released late 2025, or early 2026 and is expected to have a price around ₹48-55 lakh
Pricing, Launch Timing, and Variants
Sources in the industry say the Tayron will be positioned at ₹48-55 lakh (ex-showroom, India) depending on equipment and localization. There is no official word from Volkswagen about the launch date, but we expect it to be around late 2025 or sometime in early 2026. The India-spec model is expected to feature a petrol engine, namely, a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Higher trims could even come with 4Motion all-wheeldrive which should make it better both on the road and off it.
Features and Comfort
The Tayron should provide room for seven passengers within its three rows of seats, as well as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety and driver-assistance features will probably be Level 2 ADAS systems, a 360° camera, different airbags, and more of the latest-gen tech for convenience and security.
